Day 7: Your Favorite Movies

Oh yes, let’s talk about movies. I am a movie freak. Not the movies at the movie theater, mind you. The reason for that is: I can’t put closed captioning on the big screen, I can’t hit pause or rewind, and if it’s a scary movie, I don’t want to be remembered as the woman who was screaming her head off the whole time. Ahem, I prefer to do that in the privacy of my home, thank you very much.

The other thing I like about movies on DVD (and VHS) is I can watch them over and over and over and over and……well you get what I’m saying. If I like a movie, I have to watch it at least 100 times. If I love a movie, I make a marathon look like a joke.

Anyway, on to a few of my favorite movies! Yay!!!

I LOVE vampire movies. Eternal life, living through the ages of change in the world, sleeping all day, awake all night, and the lavish lifestyles. The down side, is drinking blood. Ewwww. They’re going to have to come up with something to accommodate me when I’m turned.

This movie was deep in my memory bank until I came across it the other night channel surfing. I put the remote down and settled in to watch. *Sigh~ Andy Garcia with his accent.* It’s an incredible story to watch as Meg Ryan’s character works her way to recovery and the impact it has on her marriage. Beautiful love story.

I don’t know what it is about this movie, but  I love the bad guy. He cracks me up. My favorite part is when Darry and Trish are at the old lady’s house where cats just seem to be multiplying. Darry asks her how many “babies” she has.  And she replies, “More than a couple.” My daughter and I crack up during that part.

If you haven’t seen this movie, I don’t want to give  too much away. It’s based on the life of John Nash who won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics. It is a movie which brings understanding to how a person’s mind can work sometimes.

The Wayans brothers are hilarious people in general. But they really have you rolling as they play two sisters  in the world of the rich. You don’t want one of the girls to have a “B.F.”

What are some of your favorite movies?

  1. The remakes of Halloween are better. Just saying!
